The Health and Disability Commissioner Act
The Health and Disability Commissioner Act was enacted in October 1994. The Act created the Office of the Commissioner - with the role of promoting and protecting the rights of health and disability consumers, and facilitating the fair, simple, speedy, and efficient resolution of complaints - together with a national network of independent advocates, under the Director of Advocacy, and an independent prosecutor, the Director of Proceedings.

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) administers New Zealand's accident compensation scheme, which provides personal injury cover for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand. New Zealand's accident compensation scheme provides 24-hour no-fault personal injury insurance cover.

Don Oliver Fitness City is situated at 27-29 Hinemoa Street Paraparaumu. The fitness centre has a comprehensive range of training equipment, an aerobic/fitness arena and a computer circuit. It has qualified gym staff on hand and a Physiotherapist works at the site running ACC Activity Based Programmes for clients undergoing the fitness aspect of their injury rehabiliation.

The first step towards achieving a healthy diet for children begins with bringing a family together to eat regularly, according to the new national Healthy Eating programme.
Special diet for arthritis
Many people with arthritis ask whether any special diet will help them or whether there are any certain foods they should avoid. Friends, articles in magazines and advertising promotions often suggest a range of dietary cures that promise many benefits. Research has not found any convincing evidence that arthritis can be cured or relieved by avoiding or eating any particular foods, except in the treatment of gout.
